If you're looking for raw punk in d-beat rhythm that will make your ears bleed, then you should check for some Japanese or Swedish bands, and here we have a split 12" record of two of the best current bands that keep the legacy of bands like Disclose and Anti-Cimex alive.

E.A.T.E.R. Ernst And The Edsholm Rebels - Abort The System - 7"

E.A.T.E.R. - Abort the System 7"ep (HCS-040) limited to 1000 copies worldwide.
Ernst And The Edsholm Rebels – E.A.T.E.R. are a Swedish Hardcore band formed in the summer of 1982 in Grums/Kil, Värmland, Sweden by Mikael “Gröten” Karlsson - guitar and vocals, Anders Brännström – bass, Peter “Pelle” Forsman – drums and Hans “Hasse” Dahlgren – vocals.
Legendary E.A.T.E.R.(ERNST AND THE EDSHOLM REBELS) again!
This was expected to be released by their ERNST rec in 1984'. It will now be released with original sleeve and unpublished 8 pages booklet like the "Doomsday Troops" ep. speedy and melodious Trall raw punk attacker more than the 1st ep. They passed so many offer to release this 7" that it's time to be released now! It's also remastered for this gem.
Release on 7th/June

Ernst And The Edsholm Rebels – E.A.T.E.R. were formed in the summer of 1982 in Grums/Kil, Värmland, Sweden by Mikael “Gröten” Karlsson (guit/vox), Anders Brännström (bass), Peter “Pelle” Forsman (drums) and Hans “Hasse” Dahlgren (vox). and this first line-up of E.A.T.E.R. recorded Chaos Cassette vol.1 which was realesed in the fall of 1982. A number of gigs were played by this first line-up, among them the chaotic and by media well documented gig at Segmons Folkets hus in february of 1983. By the release of the bands debut EP Doomsday Troops (Ernst Records) Hasse was replaced by Mikael “Micke” Larsson as the leadsinger. Micke had earlier played in Psykjouren together with infamous and by now nationwidely known Buddha. Doomsday Troops EP was recorded and produced In KAAS by the band & Micke Blomqvist, and released in the summer of 1983. The record was sold all over the world, and E.A.T.E.R. recived recognition from people like Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys and Pushead, the artist that made Metallicas and the Misfits cartoons. With the new line-up and a sucessfull record-realese the band went on the road and toured Sweden. A review: Not to be confused with the '77 U.K. punk band Eater, this Swedish group (Ernst And The Edsholm Rebels) floor down on the acceleration and rapidly hit fast, lightning doses of 1000-m.p.h. thrash mayhem. An outrageous display of burning speed and mind-boggling turbulence, combined with chaotic chops of lyrical expression. Don't be fooled by the hilarious intro to the title cut--this EP hauls its load fast and furious in the new Swedish tradition. - Pushead (from Maximum Rock'n'Roll #13, April/May 1984) - The band is still active and I recommend this 5 piece of classic swedish hardcore tunes.

Marvelous Darlings - I'll Stand By Her - 7"

Marvelous Darlings - I'll Stand By Her - 7"

The latest addition to MARVELOUS DARLINGS' discography is a legitimate double A-side threat. Like their last three singles on Bachelor, P. Trash, and Taken By Surprise, "I'll Stand By Her" and "Friend of a Friend" were destined for a full-length release that never materialized. So, a killer LP became a collection of killer singles, parceled out to different labels, issued one at a time (maybe they'll be reunited someday). Much has been written about these guys' sound and the other bands in which they have/had a stake and it's pretty much all on point--we won't pad the score here. Once again, the Westerbergian vibes permeate through these grooves, a union of snarling rock 'n' roll and strummy goodness. Limited to 600 copies, black vinyl.

Young Governor - Call Me When The Cat Dies - 7"

Young Governor - Call Me When The Cat Dies - 7" ltd

Young Governor, AKA Ben Cook of Fucked Up, The Bitters, No Warning, Marvelous Darlings and Violent Minds fame, continues his outpouring of 7" singles with "Call Me When The Cat Dies" which doesn't let up on the fuzzy garage punk sounds akin to The Replacements or The Undertones.

The Young Gov has been rolling from label to label for the last year or two dishing out some of the best and craziest sounding punk tunes you can get your ears around and this one on Criminal IQ might be the best of the bunch (so far). "Call Me When the Cat Dies" races along with a tense and sinister vibe immediately reminiscent of the Lost Sounds with guitar effects tweaked to make them sound almost synth-like in places. A total rager that sticks hard to the ribs and mind alike. The flip "Fade Away" is a great mod jam that pays homage to fellow Man City fans Oasis and there's even a thank you for weirdo City midfielder Steven Ireland on the cover. A great record by a remarkable song-writer.

Young Governor - Firing Squad - 7"

Young Governor - Firing Squad - 7" Ltd

In a few short years, Ben Cook has carved out a sweet little niche for himself under the moniker "YOUNG GOVERNOR." The Guv's stamp is pretty much everywhere you look these days: he writes, he records, he slings wax as a budding record label mogul, and he still finds time to rock the guitar in FUCKED UP. Last year, he even landed a part in some teen idol flick, playing drums opposite Nick Jonas, and lived to write a song about it for his agent. Word is, the Guv is taking it to the stage in 2011 with a full band. No ETA yet, but we'll all be paying attention for sure. This single marks our fourth dance with Ben and it's a real corker. "Firing Squad" was on its way to a super-indie when we rescued it, while "25 With a Bullet" appears here in its third--and best, we think--form. Limited to 600 copies, black vinyl.

A1 Speed Freak
A2 Nothing To Do
B1 That's It

A band from the Manchester punk scene along with the Fall , Buzzcocks and Warsaw and containing ex members of the Nosebleeds and Panik. Evolved from the early days of the Electric Circus and definitely erred on the glam side of punk!
Great single Speed Freak / Nothing To Do / Thats It on (Bent Records 1978). If you think the chorus in Nothing To Do sounds naggingly familiar then play I'm Mad by Slaughter & The Dogs and see if there is a similarity !!. The single is mega rare so pick up the 21 track retrospective on Overground called simply enough V2 but which is excellent and well worth checking out. In the sleeve notes it says..." On record they rarely, if ever, achieved that which they could deliver live....crashing through stages wearing frankenstein boots; attacking front rows with guitars hacked into cricket bats; faking electric shocks to stop riots...coming off stage covered from head to toe in gob, beer, whatever " - thanx to http://www.punk77.co.uk/

Fucked Up is a hardcore punk band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The band formed and played their first shows in early 2001. The initial practicing lineup consisted of 10,000 Marbles (Guitar), Concentration Camp (Vocals), and Mustard Gas (Bass Guitar). Just prior to recording their demo tape, Concentration Camp moved to guitar and vocal duties were taken over by Pink Eyes (also known as Mr. Damian). Drums are played by Mr. Jo (also credited as G. Beat or J. Falco) and Young Governor was added as a third guitarist in 2007.
Following the release of the demo, the band embarked on a long series of 7” vinyl 45 rpms. Unlike many of their contemporaries, the band shunned full length LP or CD formats, preferring to output their music two songs at a time. While some record distributors refused to carry the singles, they were generally released to broad appeal, receiving glowing reviews in many punk fanzines. The artwork and feel of the records was a tribute to the [Dangerhouse Records era of punk vinyl.

Special Duties ‎– Violent Society - 7"

Special Duties ‎– Violent Society - 7"
Charnel House ‎– Sarcophagi 2 - 1981 - original fold-out cover, includes lyric sheet insert and original paper dust bag
Special Duties was created in October 1977 by schoolfellows Steve Green (Aka Arrogant), Steve Norris (Aka Duty) and Nigel Baker. They were punks at school, but the idea of forming their own band came when they saw The Adverts in Colchester. However, the three schoolboys couldn’t play and didn’t own any instruments. In spite on that, it didn’t discourage them. They decided to put Arrogant on vocals, Duty on guitar and Baker on Bass. With regard to their drummer, they had none, until that they asked to Stuart Bray, an 18 year old well respected punk of their region. Soon after that, they met Bart Povah who joined their group at the guitar.
In 1982 Arrogant decided to declare war to the anarcho-punk band Crass. They released an LP 77 in 82 which was followed by their biggest selling single “Bullshit Crass”. However, after that, their music’s leading distributors refused to stock their material. This censorship made life a burden for the band. In 1983 they released the single “Punk Rocker” who was not well distributed. In the same year, the group broke off.
Twelve years later, the band was back on scene for the 1995’s Fuck Reading at the Brixton Academy. After that the group didn’t split again and now, they are still gigging and recording.

Combat 84’s first line up was Jim on guitar, John Depford on bass, Chubby Chris on vocals, and Brownie behind the kit. Their first gig was at Walmer Castle in Peckham in South East London. The two main members of the group had pretty polar opposite views. Chubby was nigh on racism and Depford John was far from racist. There was a riot at one of their gigs on the Arena TV show in ‘82. The band sort of called it a day a while after. Chubby went on to follow Chelsea in the firm. There was a short comeback attempt just after 2000 and they released a small bit of material and played some gigs. This lineup was without Chubby, who now lives in Thailand and owns a British pub there called ‘The Dog’s Bollocks’. A litle vague but at least it’s about the right band not condemned 84!!!

Company Records ‎– CIGCO 008 - 1979 - original gatefold sleeve, rare red label - original paper dust sleeve with sticker ' Marketed and Distributed by Dead Good Records, Lincoln, Tel (0522) 38333.

In 1978 a band came out of Lincoln in the UK, they gained a good degree of local success, but on a major scale they were largely ignored. While they did receive airplay on the John Peel radio show in the UK, as well as recording some Peel Sessions for the program the band The Cigarettes only ever released an EP and a single while they were still active. The Cigarettes were a trio of musicians consisting of Rob Smith on guitar/vocals/piano, Steve Taylor on bass/vocals and Adam Palmer on drums. The band was also difficult to pinpoint due to the fact that they mixed a variety of styles and a public image that was not easily defined. Were they Punk? Were they Mod? Were they Power Pop? You could argue for either avenue of musical justification, but the truth is they were all of the above. They looked kind of like Mod’s their music mixed a variety of elements that at times sounded like Power Pop topped off with a Buzzcocks Spiral Scratch flare, but in other circumstances they also sounded like a straight up 77 era UK Punk band or a Mod Rock band.

In 1979, The Cigarettes released a three track EP featuring the songs “They’re Back Again, Here They Come”, “I’ve Forgot My Number (Now I’m Telling You My Name)” and “All We Want Is Your Money”. This EP which was titled They're Back Again, Here They Come, mixed the previously aforementioned genres and proves to be the strongest release in the bands catalogue while they were still active. A single followed in 1980 called “I Can’t Sleep At Night”, it would be one of their last releases. The band split in 1981. The Cigarettes were also featured on a few compilations, which over the years kept them in the knowledge of the few underground musicologists. In 2002, The Cigarettes released a 30 track album compiling material from their 1979 EP, 1980 single, unreleased studio tracks, live tracks and John Peel Session tracks. The Cigarettes – Will Damage Your Health was released on Detour Records and is the definitive compilation of a short lived UK band that no matter what ingredients made up their recipe for music, the results speak for themselves. - many thanx to Revolution Rock.

Crisis ‎– UK '79/White Youth - 7"

Ardkor Records ‎– CRI 002 - 1979

Crisis was a British punk and post-punk band, formed in 1977 which was active until the early eighties. After the dissolution of Crisis, Douglas Pearce and Tony Wakeford formed Death in June, Luke Rendall joined Theatre of Hate and Lester Jones formed Carcrash International. Crisis performed at many rallies for Rock Against Racism (RAR), the Anti-Nazi League (ANL) and Right To Work marches eventually resulting in British music magazine Sounds using the phrase ‘Music To March To’ to describe their distinctly edgy, controversial and far-left leaning form of Punk Rock. Crisis gained a substantial following in the UK and Europe’s punk subculture. In early 1979 the group underwent a major change in personnel with Phrazer, the original lead singer and Insect Robin The Cleaner, the original drummer, being replaced by long time fan and roadie Dexter and Luke Rendall. After performing their last show supporting Magazine and Bauhaus in their home town of Guildford in Surrey on 10th May,1980 the decision was taken to dissolve Crisis. Their first 7” was the classic 3 track “Riot Squad” ep released in 1981, really great early 80’s UK Punk. Their second single was called “Mothers Pride” which came out in 1985, by the time this one came out the line up of the band had changed.

Cock Sparrer ‎– England Belongs To Me - 7"

Cock Sparrer ‎– England Belongs To Me / Argy Bargy

Carrere ‎– CAR 255 - 1982 - first press - push out centre

One of the first Oi! bands, Cock Sparrer was playing loud, raw, Cockney working-class anthems as early as the first wave of British punk, although record company difficulties prevented them from issuing much material until the early ’80s, when the Oi!movement was well underway. The group formed in London’s East End in 1975, originally as a hard-edged pub rock combo in the vein of Dr. Feelgood. Four of the members — vocalist Colin McFaull, guitarist Mick Beaufoy, bassist Steve Burgess, and drummer Steve Bruce — had been schoolmates since age 11, and had been playing together in cover bands three years prior. They were joined by rhythm guitarist Gary Lammin (Burgess’ cousin), and soon began playing the Bridgehouse Pub in Canning Town on a regular basis. The emergence of the Sex Pistols presented an opportunity to further toughen up their sound, which sparked a brief interest from Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren that didn’t end up amounting to much. In 1977, Cock Sparrer signed with Decca Records (which had already landed another proto-Oi! band in Slaughter & the Dogs) and recorded their debut single, “Runnin’ Riot,” which was followed by a cover of the Rolling Stones’ “We Love You.” However, disagreements with Decca led to the sense that the band’s simple, basic, street-level sound wasn’t really understood; as a result, their self-titled debut was, for some reason, issued only in Spain. Lammin left the group to pursue an acting career not long after, and a frustrated Cock Sparrer went on an unofficial hiatus. By the early ’80s, bands like Sham 69, the Angelic Upstarts, and the Cockney Rejects had transformed the working-class punk sensibility into a Cockney-dominated subgenre dubbed Oi! As early progenitors of the scene, Cock Sparrer was in demand once again, especially after their song “Sunday Stripper” appeared on an Oi! compilation. They began gigging again and quickly landed a record deal, resulting in the 1982 hit single “England Belongs to Me,” which struck a chord during the middle of the Falklands War. Cock Sparrer’s official U.K. debut album, Shock Troops, was also released in 1982 and became a long-standing Oi! favorite. Guitarist Beaufoy left the band in 1983 and was replaced by the tandem of Chris Skepis (rhythm) and Shug O’Neill (lead). This lineup recorded the follow-up album, 1984’s Runnin’ Riot in ‘84, but Skepis and O’Neill both departed shortly thereafter. Beaufoy rejoined briefly for the Live & Loud album, released in 1987, but disagreements within the band and (again) with their record company precipitated another breakup.
In late 1992, Cock Sparrer was invited to play a reunion gig at the Astoria, near Charing Cross. The appearance of over 2,000 fans stunned the band into a full-fledged reunion, featuring the original quartet of McFaull, Beaufoy, Burgess, and Bruce, plus new rhythm guitarist Daryl Smith. In early 1994, Cock Sparrer released Guilty as Charged, their first album of all-new material in a decade. The odds-and-ends EP Run Away followed in 1995, featuring live and studio recordings; the proper follow-up to Guilty as Charged, Two Monkeys, was released in 1997, with rumors that it would be the band’s last album featuring all new material. A spate of compilations and live recordings followed during the next few years, with the band continuing to tour extensively, hitting the U.S. in 2000.

HAYMAKER - HERE LIES THE FUTURE / IN HOME SURVEILLANCE / NO ONE ASKED ME / I DONT NEED IT / FIND YOURSELF-RECORDED AT 'THE MUSIC GYM' 31/2/2002

LIMITED PRESS 10 TRK SPLIT 7" SINGLE EP ON CLEAR VINYL WITH PLAIN BLACK LABELS IN FOLDOUT COVER FROM THE CANADIAN HARDCORE GIANTS.

Fucked Up - To my mind this is one of the best punk bands of the 21st Century thus far. The simple catchy songs strike me as being far deeper than they appear on the first listen. The band employs a stripped down "less is more" approach that is three steps ahead of most hardcore punk bands today. The end result are songs that work on several levels at once, manifesting themselves both as "thinking man's hardcore" and circle pit instigating ragers at the same time.

Haymaker-- the same old Haymaker - mean and heavy -five tracks of tough guy hardcore from the masters of bad attitude. Like a cornered rat Haymaker are set to fight to the death. Prepare to be bludgeoned by angry, bitter, and hateful songs that have no finesse, no hidden agenda, no subtleties, and no mercy. Just pure ugly and hateful hardcore. Awesome.

With tracks like "Eunuch" and "The Arena," Charred Remains made their presence known to the twisted underground sound world at large. Concrete Cross - Concrete Cross - LP

Concrete Cross - Concrete Cross - LP
Concrete Cross formed out of the wreckage of several prematurely aborted NYHC bands including Sick of Talk, Disnihil, Celebrity Murders, and others even less memorable. Accordingly, Concrete Cross maintains strong roots in misanthropy, mania, and self-sabotage.
Despite all of this, Concrete Cross continues to malfunction in forward motion. A bunch of live shows / temper tantrums have been had all around the northeastern U.S., and those disasters will likely spread to the rest of the country in short order. The first, self-titled LP, recorded in Tom’s fucking basement on a bunch of equipment stolen from a Guitar Center or something, will also be shat from the womb in 2013. Musically there are nods to Die Kreuzen, Corrosion of Conformity, the Accused, Citizen’s Arrest, and similar bands only a handful of weirdoes give a shit about. The lyrics all have to do with freaking the fuck out, but not in a fun way - thanx to Man In Decline Records.
