HIRAX is an American thrash metal band beginning in 1984 under the leadership of vocalist Katon W. De Pena (founding member). The band was an early example of the thrash metal, speed metal and crossover. HIRAX is based in Los Angeles but, at that time, because of the weak metal scene in their area, they spent most of their time playing in San Francisco along with Slayer, Metallica, and Exodus, who were all part of the exciting new metal emerging from the Bay area. They released a four-song demo in 1984. This demo was widely circulated and the band became known and respected worldwide through the metal tape trading underground. Since then HIRAX has released 5 full length studio albums and multiple EPs and has toured the world including many festivals in South America, Europe, Japan, Scandinavia, UK and the U.S.A.

It's very noisy and it feels like we're back in the 90s. Just classic käng without any unnecessary stuff. The distorted vocals fits perfectly to the raw hardcore - Kronisk Misantropi hit it straight on, this is the kind of käng/crust that I like most. It feels like a mix of Disclose and State of fear. Who needs innovatory shit when it's works perfect with käng like this? And who needs a fancy studio when music can sounds like this? I will recommend Kronisk Misantropi for everyone I know listen to kängpunk.

The long lost Neanderthal discography finally emerges from it's cave to see the light of day. Eight anthems of destruction (5 tracks from the 1990 "Fighting Music" 7" on Slap A Ham, 2 tracks from the 1990 Neanderthal/Rorschach split 7" on Vermiform, and one track from the 1991 "Bllleeeeaaauuurrrrgghhh!" compilation 7" on Slap A Ham). Without Neanderthal there would not be Powerviolence. Nanderthal was Eric Wood (Man Is the Bastard and/Cross Out), Matt Domino (Infest), and Joe Denunzio (Infest). A must have for anyone interested in Infest, Man Is The Bastard, Charred Remains, Weekend Nachos, or Lack of Interest. This is a discography of all released recordings. One sided with Neanderthal etching on B side. Let the games begin!
