One of my favorite English bands of the early 80's second wave of punk. They were less known than most of their contemporaries but packed a punch with some great tunes. This is their third ep. Think of them as a more punk version of the Newtown Neurotics.

A melodic yet powerful band from the fertile Warminster area, A-Heads were active between 1981 and 1985 and were an important and much appreciated cog in the local anarcho scene. Their founder member Jock took their name from a piece of graffito scrawled on a wall in Germany, where he was living at the time with his army parents. He found out in 1982 that the graffito had been daubed by the German punk group A-Heads, hence two bands in the early 80s with the same name.The British A-Heads were tuneful and thoughtful, and shared stages, members and friendships with both Subhumans and Organised Chaos. Their debut 7", Dying Man was a bitter rant about glue sniffing, which is right up there with 'Suicide Bag' in self-righteous indignation but equally appealing. Single #2 Forgotten Hero was another great tune, but their last year was dogged with lineup problems, and when they recorded it as an album in 1984 Vox Populi came out on cassette only and was their final release. Original bassist Nige later joined Dick Subhuman in Culture Shock. Sadly, NIgel committed suicide in 1993. Singer Mel left Aheads went on to join Faction.

Among the kings of the late '80s UK hardcore scene, EXTREME NOISE TERROR, indisputably deserve their name to be written in big black capitol letters. After speeding up, together with Napalm Death, Doom, Hellbastard and the likes, what Discharge created back in the early Eighties and inspiring a whole generation of crust bands, EXTREME NOISE TERROR are back in 2015 with a new full length recorded last year. It's hard to believe this new masterpiece doesn't come from the same 1991 sessions as this is totally Phonophobia-core. This new self titled record sounds exactly as the old E.N.T. tunes we all fell in love with, so what you have to expect is the usual overdose of throat-cutting double vocals, thrashy heavy rotten sounding guitar riffs, helicopter-ish bass and turbo aggressive fast beats. For those who still don't believe it, I'm reporting what Dean Jones wrote us introducing the record: "The new album is back to total old school ENT (Earslaughter, Holocaust, Phonophobia) No Metal, No Blasts. Total pure ripping, ultra fast H/C Punk the way it originally was". And this is what their new singer Ben wants to state about his feelings towards the record: "I was a big fan of ENT as a teen, long before I joined, specifically of A Holocaust In Your Head and Phonophobia. If I was going to compare this new album to anything the band’s done before I’d say it sits nicely with those two. Catchy as fuck aggressive ultra hardcore punk riffs, fast frantic drumming and mental vocals; I don’t think Dean’s ever sounded as insane as he does on this one! It’s raw as fuck too, no click tracks or fixing-in-the-mix type shit, instead the drums, bass and guitars were done live with the leads added after and me and Dean sharing a mic going through a 76 year old analogue valve amp. We’re all hugely proud of this album, its a proper call to arms and a brutal statement that the band’s music and message is every bit as relevant today as when it was formed 30 years ago”. This record is totally in memory of their beloved singer Phil Vane who sadly passed away in 2011. Rest In Peace Phil and long live EXTREME NOISE TERROR!

Repress on classic swedish 7“ originally released via Röj records in 1985. Protes Bengt was a blast off hardcore project by Åke from Mob 47 and Per Thunell from Filthy Christians and was basically Mob 47 with Per on vocals. The band was mainly formed to break some guys who did a tape withloads of songs. Protes Bengt never rehearsed but made two recordings. The first recording contains 74 "songs" of which 32 were released as this "In Bengt We Trust" EP. Most of the lyrics are really stupid but some have serious contents. The second recording was a 12-track demo called "Bengt e sänkt", the style had change to more one beat hardcore like Heresy, D.R.I, Lärm.

Encapsulating the last 15 years of extreme musical devastation in one album, BACKSLIDER has drawn on its influences and expanded its doom-laden attack to unleash a hellstorm of massive musical terror - Backslider's brand of weird, dirty powerviolence has been a welcome thorn in the side of the Philadelphia underground music scene since 2009's Skull-Fracturing Fastcore demo. Seven-ish years and a half dozen releases down the line, the trio is finally poised to release its first-ever full-length album (their first release as a trio, thanks to the addition of bassist Jake Smith). Motherfucker comes out January 15 via Six Weeks Records, and man, I'll tell ya, it's a real motherfucker of a recording. 

Powerviolence, grindcore, fastcore, hardcore, skronky grunge, big fat slabs of grimy rock'n'roll—you'll find all that on this groovy, grinding piece of mayhem. There's a serious rock element to many of these songs, which is more than a little uncommon when discussing fastcore or any of its noxious fellows. When the band name-checked Black Sabbath and Nirvana in their initial email to me, I thought it was nonsense... until I pressed Play, and found out exactly what they meant. There's plenty of -core afoot here, too, lest ye imagine for an instant that Backslider's gone soft; the ignorant grooves on "Sex in Prison" and noise rock noodling on "Swollen and Sore" alone make the purchase price worth it, to say nothing of the five other tracks that whip by in a flash on this short, salty beauty of a debut.

Musically, this record is more PUNK and a little less rockin' then the 1st one but still what I call a 'traditional DxAxDx record'. If I had to make comparisons, I'd say this one where a generic description is still apt- Varukers and Discharge crossed w early Inepsy, GBH, Guns N Roses, Burning Spirits style Japanese HC and Violent Society with slight midwestern flair. 70 copies available on Opaque WHITE wax with a Black streak.

Reissue of the 1996 "KINDBUD" series split from Rhetoric and Deaf American Records.

Brutal Truth was formed by Dan Lilker in 1990. The band split-up in 1998 and reformed in 2006 with a new guitar player. Rupture was a hardcore punk band from Perth, Australia, that formed in the 1980s and were active until around late 2001, when vocalist Gus Chamber died. The original release was released by Brutal Truth's Drummer (Rich Hoak's) label "Deaf American The original record is a highly sought after, and is hard to come by. It's now being re-released by DeepSix Records. Featuring new artwork by Brutal Truth's lead screamer Kevin Sharp! (Deep Six Records #162) Originally released in 1997 just prior to Brutal Truth's initial hiatus, this 7" took one studio song and two live songs from the legendary grind outfit Brutal Truth and six from demented hombres Rupture. Back in print for the first time in over a decade.

During their three or four year existence, St. Louis' Sweet Tooth had one thing on their minds while writing music. Speed. Just about everything else came together after that. Bands like this never last because they're too fast and out of control, but that's what makes them so grand. Sweet Tooth never had the opportunity to fuck up. This shit is solid thrash goodness. And as far as a flexi recording sound goes, this works pretty good and actually sounds good for a flexi. All a matter of opinion of course. If you liked the demo and EP, you'll love this. Comes in a regular cardstock foldover cover and even has an insert,, so its treated like a regular release and not just a flexi in a polybag. This is a 1 time press of 400 & not small pressed as a gimmick/collector thing, just seemed right to not overdo it.
