JAPANESE HARDCORE's pronoun "DEATH SIDE" has released a 7-inch unreleased sound source and a DVD that summarizes valuable images.

The unreleased sound source is from the recording of "Game Of Death", a masterpiece omnibus LP sponsored by SLICE RECORDS released in 1989, and each member takes one vocal. Two of the four songs were sold digitally for benefits, but the remaining two are completely unreleased. It is a content that can be called an incident.

The DVD is a compilation of footage from the late 80's to the 90's with interviews with current members. This is also very valuable, including many videos that have not been released on the internet.

Liner notes are active in GUDON, SYSTEMATIC DEATH, BASTARD, JUDGEMENT, HALF YEARS, etc., and Mr. ZIGYAKU who built the history of Japanese hardcore with DEATH SIDE. Includes gatefold jacket and download code for 7-inch songs.

Somewhere along the way, the world of DIY punk became extremely codified. A lot of the current punk enjoyed by myself and everybody else is very paint-by-the-numbers, genre-specific, self-referential. Play like THIS, sound like THAT, ideas that are easily identified and collectively understood.

But punk wasn't always this way. And I think Sarushibai prove that even now, it doesn't necessarily have to be. Sarushibai has the spirit of adventurousness and the willingness to take chances that I associate with ADK Records bands like The Stalin and Aburadako, LSD and Kikeiji, or with early American punk like Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Dangerhouse Records. For me, Sarushibai harken back to a time when punk was more about "attitude" and its expression was more free and individualistic, and not set with so much regimented formality.

Clearly The Stalin and Kikeiji are starting points, but Sarushibai create their own journey through loneliness and sadness, inferiority and abnormality, weaving in a variety of instruments and influences to create a unique experience that still resonates as PUNK. Because what is punk if not music for outcasts?

Visible Fucker / Stinkers - Chiba Trash split Punk CD

2 bands from Chiba, Japan playing Swankys style punk rock.

Along with The MARGAReTS Visible Fucker led the new generation of punk in Chiba in the early 90's inspiring bands like the C&C after the late 80's hardcore boom led by Kyojinbyo, Parasite and G-10.

Taking inspiration from classic 70's UK punk rock and the Kyushu punk scene Visible Fucker played snotty punk that sounds like a mix of the noisier The Very Best Of Hero era Swankys and the later garage inspired 70's sound of the Swankys - Swank Dinner LP.

Visible Fucker were active for just 4 years and recorded 2 demo tapes and appeared on 2 compilation CDs a total of 15 tracks all of which are included on this CD. A few years later vocalist Kasai formed Stinkers who picked up where Visible Fucker left off and took it to the next level, they were an under the radar band who recorded just 2 demos, both are included on this CD. 26 tracks in total in a jewel case with liner notes by former bassist Kichi Vader and loads of pics and flyers.

Fans of The Swankys, Spunky Boys, Slicks, Sex Pistols, the C&C and The MARGAReTS take note.
