Black Market Baby - Potential Suicide - 7" EP

BLACK MARKET BABY - Potential Suicide - 7"

POTENTIAL SUICIDE/YOUTH CRIMES/AMERICA'S YOUTH/KILLING TIME
Released nearly 30 years ago and out of print since then, Dr Strange has finally re-released this legendary Killed By Death 7" (originally on Limp Records) with two never before heard live versions of "America's Youth" and "Killing Time" from DC's 9:30 Club in 1984. The studio tracks were originally recorded by Skipp Groff at Inner Ear (Minor Threat, S.O.A., Teen Idles) and the live tracks by Government Issue's Tom Lyle. For fans of Minor Threat, Government Issue, Bad Brains, and Necros.
Black Market Baby from Washington DC were around in the late 70's and early 80's. Unlike most DC bands they played pretty straight forward punk rock instead of hardcore. They were pretty overshadowed by local hardcore bands, but had a great sound and style all their own and mixed well with the hardcore crowd. Their sound was more influenced by the Stooges/Dolls/Heartbreakers and UK Punk than hardcore. This 7" re issue from Dr. Strange features the original two songs on the Limp Records ep plus two never heard live tracks. Because it was on some comps this gets labelled as "KBD" punk at times. However you slice it, great early US punk.

Slobs - Look Busy Do Nothing EP - 7"

SLOBS - Look Busy Do Nothing - 7"

Hardly spoken of and rather elusive (NOT MYSTERIOUS) is Montreal's SLOBS, not 'The Slobs' like the KBD band but just SLOBS. This band keeps a low profile probably intentionally out of not giving a damn and their demo made some rounds but seemed to only make it into the hands of well researched demo collectors. Said demo was somehow pressed on vinyl in a very small press in early 2010 by a local Montreal label and I don't see it around much anymore. This is their debut EP and if you didn't know the band they play a rowdy style of east coast hardcore punk that's ready for you to skank & bedroom mosh to. When I first heard the demo in 2009 I immediately thought of stuff like CFD era Necros meets early NYHC injected with a real dose of PUNK and it totally stomped my nuts. This debut EP is more of that same greatness but maybe add in some grittier elements like Nihilistics, make it more tough & make it a little faster & more punk. And yet, they still sound so distinctly Canadian and I mean that in the best way. Boasts members of the lovely OMEGAS for those sorts of people who buy records based off that unimportant 'members of' crap.

School Jerks - Control EP - 7"

SCHOOL JERKS - Control EP. The 3rd 7'' by Toronto's finest. Regulars should know how much I love this band, so I won't get into it. On this their 3rd record, the band brings you their best tracks to date! These 6 tracks still follow the same path as the other 2 records of 1980'81 influenced punk rock that's fence riding hardcore (with so subtle rock influence), but if you ask me the band has an even grittier influence to it this time from Solger to early PI flowing thru the riffs. Of course Black Flag whether they like it or not remains a comparison note and plus on this one you can actually make out some of Luke's vocals on here. Mastered by Dan Randall for maximum effect making it their finest effort to date.

Migraine - Weird Tales EP - 7" limited white vinyl

MIGRAINE - Weird Tales EP - 7" limited white vinyl

"Weird Tales" is the second record from bizarre Bay Area punk group Migraine. The A-side continues from where the first one ended in that No Comment meets United Mutation way but the B-side ventures more into a chaotic blend of Slices, Swans and black metal style hardcore. Art done by Dan of Cult Ritual, not unlike the current Youth Attack bands.
TRACK LISTING:
1. Pemonitions 2. Visions 3. Feast Or Famine 4. The Occurence 5. Recurring Nightmare 6. Encroaching Darkness

Vile Nation - No Exit - 7" ltd white vinyl

VILE NATION - No Exit - 7" ltd white vinyl. Such an excellent record, even 3 years later it just sounds classic! This is the debut EP from Memphis' TN own Vile Nation. Very mean, raw and ugly fast 'thrash' (before thrash was a dirty word) hardcore with a heavy dose of punk. One can't listen to this and not hear the 1st 7'' era of D.R.I, Neon Christ and Negative FX and bands of that same time frame and caliber being channeled here. Chris just spews the words out pissed n' fast and the band keeps up. Members of Life Trap & School Jerks play in this band as well. Words can't describe how utterly amazing this record is, its just great great great! These copies with a big center hole & on WHITE WAX.

Chainsaw To The Face - S/T - 7" ltd clear vinyl

CHAINSAW TO THE FACE - ST - 7" ltd clear vinyl

Long awaited debut EP from CTTF of New Jersey! More than a few things kept this sucker from coming out for sometime but it finally sees the light of day! You may remember them from their early demos, split tapes or of course the split 10'' w Hummingbird of Death which are all fine and good recordings, but they really need to be heard on this record. Harsh, brutal and hate filled east coast grind-violence from these straight edge guys. Violent lyrics & imagery remains the usual theme for this band on this EP (like any of their past material) and its all done in a very non-gimmicky kind of way, which is refreshing. Recording is very punk and the sound is lo-fi,, which is perfect for a record like this. This style of harsh, real 'power violence' is NOT for everyone, so wimps and poseurs need not apply since this is for the real cult freaks. 19 songs in all on this EP, they're influenced by such greats as Plutocracy, Assuck, No Comment and Excruciating Terror who are all bands I'd say if you like and listen to, you should get this record. We have 1 color vinyl EXCLUSIVE to us and the band also has a color vinyl EXCLUSIVE to them. This isn't some collector scheme, it was done to help them sell their records locally and make that color an 'east coast' exclusive.

Dark Ages - Vicious Lie ep - 7" ltd orange vinyl

DARK AGES - Vicious Lie - 7" ltd orange vinyl

The great debut EP from Kansas City's Dark Ages! Continuing from where their killer 4 song demo (which also saw a pressing on vinyl) left off, this picks it up from point A and yet cover new ground at the same time. Its progressed a little but not to the point where its evil to punks. Its like its more refined and the band knows which direction to take this musically. Lyrically it tackles similar angry topics as the demo did-being pro anti-religion, questioning politics (NOT preaching) and also a song about trying to not think of everything in a negative way, to be positive for a change. It's kind of like stuff you've heard before but really can't make comparisons to other bands with this record as they've developed a sound all their own &t its clearly midwestern. This is just Dark Ages and this is far from boring retread or mysterious HC/punk, comes w nice color covers. This PRESS on OPAQUE RED ORANGE.

High Life - S/T - 7" ltd lavender vinyl

HIGH LIFE - ST - 7" limited lavender vinyl

Brand new 2nd EP from High Life. The band is now from all over the place from Illinois to Missouri to Texas, but the sound remains the same. Very angry still but this record is a lot louder and a little slower. The style of playing sort of off key and just sounding insane is replaced with a more controlled outburst of rage backed with excellent playing from the band. I really don't know how to define what they sound like now, its almost like later Poison Idea and Citizens Arrest being filtered through Zen and the Art era 9 Shocks Terror. 4 songs of hateful, drug induced hardcore punk. This one literally kills the 1st record.

No Comment - Common Senseless - 7" EP + badge

No Comment - Common Senseless - Deepsix reissue black vinyl with insert and free 'Common Senseless' button badge.
No Comment, for those who may have missed the boat, No Comment is powerviolence before it had a name and, therefore, is not shitty like the glut of bands unsuccessfully attempting to achieve the sound. This shit is extremely fast hardcore, somewhat similar to Infest, but better. I said it. Gone are the somewhat awkward samples of political speeches from their demo tape and, in their place, is better production and a tighter sound. While not quite as perfect as their masterpiece, Downsided, this 7" trumps most everything else from the era - thanx to icoulddietommorrow.

Authorities - Soundtrack To Trouble - 7" EP

AUTHORITIES - Soundtrack For Trouble - 7" EP

SOUNDTRACK TO TROUBLE - KBD REISSUE
Track listing: ACHTUNG!/I HATE COPS/BETWEEN THE THIGHS/RADIATIONMASTURBATION/SHOT IN THE HEAD/LSD
One of the all time greats! I first heard this 7" back in the early 80's when a friend played it for me over the phone and I have loved it ever since. This re issue features the original four tracks and two "bonus tracks" that have been saved for the CD version. The original four songs are so killer, great punk/hardcore from Stockton California circa 1982. Just totally snotty and raw punk/hardcore "I hate cops" is one of the all time best punk party anthems. This band gets lumped in with "KBD" punk a lot since they were on some of those comps, but the songs are more like right on the edge between punk and hardcore and are catchy as fuck. You can't not sing along to this after your first listen, you will remember these songs forever and when they come on the stereo years from now, you will starting singing along "I...HATE...COPS...I...HATE...COPS" -- Felix Havoc.

Young Governor "Firing Squad" 7" ltd vinyl

YOUNG GOVERNOR "Firing Squad" b/w "25 With a Bullet" 7" (PIR-039)

In a few short years, Ben Cook has carved out a sweet little niche for himself under the moniker "YOUNG GOVERNOR." The Guv's stamp is pretty much everywhere you look these days: he writes, he records, he slings wax as a budding record label mogul, and he still finds time to rock the guitar in FUCKED UP. Last year, he even landed a part in some teen idol flick, playing drums opposite Nick Jonas, and lived to write a song about it for his agent. Word is, the Guv is taking it to the stage in 2011 with a full band. No ETA yet, but we'll all be paying attention for sure. This single marks our fourth dance with Ben and it's a real corker. "Firing Squad" was on its way to a super-indie when we rescued it, while "25 With a Bullet" appears here in its third--and best, we think--form. Limited to 600 copies, black vinyl.

Limited WHITE vinyl After 3 critically acclaimed 7”s (two of which on DERANGED) and a slight line up change, Vancouver’s WHITE LUNG deliver one fantastic debut album. Red Dons - Fake Meets Failure - LP ltd green vinyl

RED DONS - Fake Meets Failure - LP ltd green vinyl

LTD GREEN VINYL - The '00s or whatever you wanna call the last decade is over, and the results are in. Honorable independent publications and the ever growing "blogosphere" outdid themselves with Top 5, Top 10, and Top 100 lists of records that were issued in the last ten years. A common find among these lists was the seminal SO WHAT'S LEFT NOW? LP by Portland, Oregon's THE OBSERVERS released on VINYL WARNING in 2004. The dawn of a new decade is upon us and Doug Burns (Lead singer/songwriter/artist of THE OBSERVERS) has a new band, the RED DONS, featuring Daniel Hajji Husayn, Richard Joachim Preinesberger, and a rotating cast of characters including Justin Maurer (Clorox Girls), Will Kinser (Born/Dead), Zack Brooks (Soda Pop Kids), and Andy Foote (The Physical Challenge). Named after a group of Cambridge professors that operated as spies for the Soviet Union in WW2, the RED DONS continue where the OBSERVERS left off with added elements of Arabic themes in both the artwork and sound. After the much lauded release of their debut album and successfully touring the US, Canada, Europe, and Brazil, the RED DONS entered a Portland studio to record ten new tracks. On this new album FAKE MEETS FAILURE (DERANGED RECORDS / TAKEN BY SURPRISE RECORDS), the band successfully develops their unique style even further. Coded lyrics about vagabond characters moving back and forth between the lines of the current climate of fear and suspicion that has been brought upon the USA by the war on terror. Again, consistent songwriting and a great production make this record stand out among the current competition. Combining TSOL-like vocals, SoCal punk rage, and the defiant melancholy of Pacific Northwesterners like the WIPERS this powerful release rises above the stack of contemporaries that take on the early 80s punk sound. No retro fashion hype, no flavor of the month. When this year turns, be sure to find this LP in the leading spots of Top 5, Top 10 and Top 100 lists of 2010. Though members are now scattered across the globe, the RED DONS will tour the USA in July 2010 and set sail for Europe in the spring of 2010. So What's Left Now? A hell of an aftermath to follow...one hell of a followup record, and one great, fierce force of a touring machine known as RED DONS .

Arguably the most potent musical force Australian music has ever seen, Resist's latest signing, Perth’s Extortion are set to launch a fresh attack on the senses with their latest balls-out thrash incursion, Loose Screws. Loose Screws pushes Extortion’s well-established power-violence sound to face-ripping new extremes. Recorded across three continents, the basic tracks were laid down at Polymorph Studios in Oakland, California by producer Dan Rathbun (Tragedy, His Hero is Gone, Talk Is Poison), then completed vocals in Perth at Bergerk! Studios, assisted by long-time producer Al Smith (Blkout!, Jaws, Clever Species). As one final flourish, UK-based celebrity Extortion fan, Barney Greenway of Napalm Death, added his unmistakable roar to the aptly titled “Grind To A Halt”.

The Normals - Almost Ready/Hardcore 7" KBD

Legit repress of the single that (probably) best epitomizes the whole KBD genre. First time on 45 since '78, from the original masters on new label Last Laugh records, totally cult Killed By Death punk, one of the holy grail 7"s for many KBD punk collectors lovingly re issued.

This Louisiana punk outfit's history was as abbreviated as the rapid-fire catchiness captured on this first-ever compilation disc. The New Orleans-based foursome issued one single in 1978, "Almost Ready"/"Hardcore," built up a rabid fan base, and supported nearly all the big names (including the Police, the Ramones, and Talking Heads), yet never landed a record deal. The Normals tried to change their fortunes by moving to New York in May 1979, but they split up after failing to make any headway there. To pay off its debts, the band regrouped for an annual hometown gig from 1981-1984 (a gesture it resumed since re-forming in 1997). Your Punk Heritage compiles the "Almost Ready" single, an obscure, yet essential, U.S. punk-era benchmark; a clutch of demo sessions (some self-produced, with others abandoned after the band's funds ran out); and live tracks from the 1984 reunion show. Guitarists David Brewton and Charlie Hanson are the dominant writers, with a knack for thuggishly appealing hooks.. ~ Special thanx to - Ralph Heibutzki

The Zeros - Main Street Brat/Handgrenade Heart 7" KBD

LEGIT RE ISSUES FROM THE ORIGINAL MASTERS ON NEW USA LABEL 'LAST LAUGH RECORDS' TOTALLY CULT CALIFORNIA KILLED BY DEATH PUNK, THE HOLY GRAIL 7"s FOR MANY KBD PUNK COLLECTORS LOVINGLY RE ISSUED.

The Zeros were an American punk rock band, formed in 1976 in Chula Vista, California. The band was composed of Javier Escovedo (younger brother of Alejandro Escovedo, older brother of Mario Escovedo of the Dragons) on vocals/guitar and Robert Lopez (later known as El Vez) on guitar, who were both attending Chula Vista High School; Hector Penalosa, (bass), and Baba Chenelle, (drums), who attended Sweetwater High School.

In 1977, The Zeros played their first major gig in Los Angeles at the Orpheum Theater. Opening the show was the first performance by The Germs, followed by The Zeros and then The Weirdos. The gig was promoted by Peter Case of The Nerves who later served as the frontman of The Breakaways and The Plimsouls. The Zeros' first single release, "Wimp" b/w "Don't Push Me Around" was released in 1977 on Bomp! Records.
In 1978, Penalosa left the band briefly to live and play in Los Angeles, and was replaced by Guy Lopez, Robert Lopez's brother. Soon after, Robert left to live in Los Angeles as well and his brother quit the Zeros. Penalosa rejoined the band and they continued as a trio, and eventually relocated to San Francisco. In March 1979, the UK music magazine, NME, reported that "punk riots had come to the U.S., when Los Angeles police broke up a Zeros' gig at Elks Hall."[1] In 1980, the band recorded a new single, including the songs "They Say That (Everything's Alright)," "Girl on the Block" and "Getting Nowhere Fast." After more touring that led to Austin, Texas and New York, the band fizzled out.
The band is infamous for playing an entire set consisting of 8 replays of "Beat Your Heart Out" in San Francisco.
More recently, the Zeros reunited to tour in Spain in early 2007. All four members reunited again for a short West Coast tour that began in San Diego in June 2009. In October 2010, the Zeros embarked on a short U.S. tour of the East Coast.
