The legendary Japanese hardcore punk band "GAUZE", active since September 1981, has announced their breakup in November 2022. Their music activities centered on live performances, including the independent "Shōdoku GIG" project, had a major influence on the style of activities of Japanese punk bands until the 1990s and beyond. Although their six official albums are few in comparison to a career spanning more than 40 years, they have all been long sellers not only in Japan but also internationally.
