Martyrdod has always been one of the highlights of the Swedish d-beat pack, even before they blew the doors off the scene with the masterful "Eldopp" in 2014. Adding that Bathory-indebted sense of melody to the Anti-Cimex base that so many have used to such great effect, Martyrdod stands taller than all but the best of d-beaters, and here "War Of Worlds" is an example of how and why. Five minutes of catchy riffing, punk drumming, raw-throated screams, and melodic guitar leads - what's not to love? Maryland's Neolithic take on filthy death/sludge is well-done,  "Inner Adversary" rides tar-caked guitar tones through a crusty death metal first half, before slowing down to an appropriately sludgy crawl for the back half. It's in that back half that "Inner Adversary" shines most, with a simple and yet very effective riff and some almost blackened croaks from vocalist Evan Harting. Composed of current and former members of Swarm Of The Lotus, Putrisect, Pulling Teeth, and Ruiner.

In late February 1984 the band THE BRISTLES from Sweden recorded the songs for their second 7" EP "Boys Will Be Boys", the band improved their musical skills and their songwriting in a massive way and left out the Oi! influences you could hear on their debut EP. "Boys Will Be Boys" offers four great, powerful and pissed off songs, expect Early, Mid Eighties Hardcore, Punk made in Sweden, no D-Beat, no Käng, just pure Hardcore full of anger and teenage angst. Once again THE BRISTLES deliver a valid proof that swedish bands can do great music without being influenced by DISCHARGE only, this release here is for fans of E.A.T.E.R., RÖVSVETT, RAPED TEENAGERS, NONCENS, NYX NEGATIV, ... .

THE BRISTLES from Landskrona, Sweden were formed in the year 1982, the band name was inspired by the title of the G.B.H. album "Leather, Bristles, Studs And Acne". THE BRISTLES started their career in the beginning of the second wave of Punk and were influenced by bands like THE EXPLOITED and developed from Punk with OI! influences to a Raw Punk band. Together with swedish bands like ASTA KASK, SÖTLIMPA, EXISTENZ, MODERAT LIKVIDATION, NONCENS, E.A.T.E.R., ANTI-CIMEX and many others, THE BRISTLES were the new breed of fast playing bands that released mostly singles and played a lot of gigs. The band broke up in 1985 and re-united first time in 1996 and since 2008 the band is fully active again.
"Don´t Give Up" originally was released in 1983 on BRISTLES PUNK AND SKIN RECORDS from Sweden, this here is the first legit re-release on the original 7" format.

Everything about this band is pretty much perfect!
Infectious punk tunes to get everyone moving composed by the freaks from CULO. This band has been slaying at their gigs and winning everyone over with their hooks and amazing song writing. Six tracks total produced by GEZA X.
I’m sure you know by now that Tarantula features a number of former Cülo members among their ranks and pretty much pick up right where Cülo left off, but honestly I think that this EP is better than anything Cülo produced, and I’m a pretty big Cülo fan! It’s funny, I mentioned to Jeff that for a band that didn’t even have a bass player in their previous iteration, the basslines on this EP are absolutely killer, and without a doubt one of the bright spots in the songs.
The other reason I prefer this somewhat to Cülo is because they’ve slowed the tempos down just a hair. While this is still pretty much full-bore punk rock, playing at just a tad less manic tempo really makes the catchiness of these tracks jump out at you. I feel like I hear a lot of the classic punk sensibility of bands like the Dickies or even prime-era Naked Raygun in these tracks, though without sounding like a rehash or an homage at all. The lyrics are even really strong and well worth a read. Here’s hoping that we get a spate of Tarantula releases much like the deluge of Cülo vinyl that we saw in 2010 and 2011 and that they’re all as killer as this one.

From the ashes of SANG this in Trento based hardcore clusterbomb delivers 4 feedback drenched hardcore songs in the best way you could have in 2017! After outstanding releases by bands like BLOTTER, GAG, SIN MOTIVO, MIRROR, BIB, or DAUDYFLIN this italian maniacs continue with the weird style of hardcore we like the most at the ETT HQ.
This EP is absolutely SAVAGE. It's a crushing assault on the ears and mind. The recording is a perfect mixture of clarity and rawness. The growling distorted bass drives the sound on top of relentless drumming and fuzzed out and feedback drenched guitar work that's part classic Italian hardcore and part 'weird 2017' era HARDCORE. IMPULSO are noisy, chaotic and explosive and each track rages with anger and intensity. Guitar layers of repetition create a bed of noise when the delay infected vocals lay painfully.
The recording here is just perfect, with rich, full bass and a big, expansive sound that's still a bit raw. Listening to this over and over I've really come to appreciate how great IMPULSO are at playing at different tempos.
Each side of this EP has a faster song and one with a more mid-paced track. All are of equal quality and interest, which makes me realize that's not the case with a lot of bands. If punk bands vary their tempo at all, it's often that they implicitly privilege either slow or fast tempos, the lesser one providing little more than a necessary counterpoint to the band's dominant mode. Such is not the case with IMPULSO.
Though they're loud, fast, and 100% hardcore punk, the songs and particularly the playing feels fleshed out and lived in in a way that most hardcore bands can only aspire to. A standout debut EP by a outstandingh band. Get weird!
